I notice you are from India, I am actually traveling to Thailand (been before but never to Chiang Mai) and to India in February. I am able bodied but my boyfriend is not. Do you have any good websites I can check out for information on the accessibility of both of these countries?EagerBeaverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01516103675967544712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2314060807901213667.post-44137888699047795042011-12-22T20:24:40.953-08:002011-12-22T20:24:40.953-08:00Good initiative Shivani, to share your travails an...Good initiative Shivani, to share your travails and experiences on travel around the world. it will be encouraging for other travelers on wheelchairs, and the given information on Chiang Mai does make it sound like a must-see destination :-) Thanks and keep writing...Sujata Mohapatrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01275987705468654076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2314060807901213667.post-18814264054991575382011-12-20T04:56:39.694-08:002011-12-20T04:56:39.694-08:00very nice article quite informative and illistrate...very nice article quite informative and illistrated dadcamleshguptahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12042312124205497554noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2314060807901213667.post-40323004496924973242011-12-20T01:47:46.768-08:002011-12-20T01:47:46.768-08:00Hi Shivani...I just got back yesterday from my tri...Hi Shivani...I just got back yesterday from my trip to Bali and Bangkok. I was glad I took my manual wheelchair cos most Bangkok cabs have CNG cylinders in their boots which makes even the manual chair difficult to load so at most times I was folding the chair and putting it in the back seat.Bali was fairly accessible. However, in both cities the hotels was fairly accessible (the bathroom commode being the only exception - which was just soooo low and so transffering was a big challenge !!) Even went out clubbing to this nigt club called bed supper lounge in bangkok which had a long flight of steps but each step were so broad that landing on each step was very safe and comfortable. But the thai and indonesian food made up for all the downsides of a fun asian getaway! I've been to Pattaya some years back, think was similar to Chiang Mai. Public transport is an issue. the sky train in Bangkok is accessible though.Shivani Guptahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18355402617364423717noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2314060807901213667.post-15138400323802114302011-12-20T00:50:54.251-08:002011-12-20T00:50:54.251-08:00hey shivani....tks 4 sharing ths useful info.
